Child disputes can arise in a number of situations. It may be that you are considering or are already co-parenting your children. Common causes of dispute include:
We appreciate disputes involving children are emotionally difficult and stressful.
Sometimes it can be as straightforward as sending a Solicitor’s letter to the other parent with an offer which can then either be negotiated or agreed upon. If this is not successful, then mediation may be appropriate. However, this would not be appropriate if, for example, there has been domestic abuse between parents. If mediation is not appropriate or an agreement cannot be reached at mediation, then a court application may be necessary. If there are issues regarding domestic abuse and or child abuse, safeguarding or welfare issues, then it may be that the first step would be a court application. We will carefully consider your options with you and agree the right course of action for you and your family.
