We routinely work with client’s who are leaving a relationship and wish to change their name. This often includes a spouses choosing to return to their maiden name. Most client’s do this as part of a fresh start.
Changing your name is a simple process. We will meet you, normally via Microsoft teams to take your instructions. We then draft a Change of Name deed, which you sign and we witness. This can then be provided to various organisations such as your bank, GP, the DVLA, Passport Office and your employer so that they use the correct name going forward. We provide clients with certified copies of the Change of Name deed so that they can keep the original safe and use the certified copies to make the necessary changes. We will need to meet you in person to certify the deed.
The process is quick. Once we are instructed, it generally takes no more than two weeks.
